Grupo Infobae

In 2012, after selling most of his media, including Radio 10 and the paid content channel C5N, Daniel Hadad started to build a digital multimedia group based on Infobae.com, a news website that had once belonged to newspaper Buenos Aires Económico (BAE). He added to his online news portal, the most visited in the country (its main competitor is Clarin.com) sports, technology and entertainment sites, a digital TV channel (Infobae TV) and a regional version of the site, Infobae América.
Even though Hadad is the group’s main shareholder, his wife Viviana Zocco – his partner in Grupo Vi-Da (Mundo TKM, BajaLibros, among others) – and his sister-in-law Eleonora Zocco also own stock. Other shareholders include Sandro Scaramelli and Pablo Cesar Deluca, who held managerial positions in Canal 9, C5N and Radio 10.
Through Scaramelli, Hadad is connected to two businessmen: Alfredo Yabrán, who committed suicide in 1998, when he was about to be arrested for the murder of photographer José Luis Cabezas, and Mario Montoto. Scaramelli was Operations Manager for OCA, when the correspondence services company belonged to Yabrán. In 2008 he created the surveillance and security cameras company Global View in partnership with Corporación para la Defensa del Sur S.A., owned by Montoto. Eleonora Zocco is also a member of the board of directors of Global View.
In 2017 Corporación América started to play a role in Infobae. Tomás Eurnekian, the corporation's Director and nephew of its owner, Eduardo Eurnekian, purchased 20% of Infobae América. He is also a member of the board of THX Medios, which controls Infobae. He was joined by Andrés Pedro Mariano Zenarruza, Director of several of the corporation’s companies, such as digital bank Wanap.
The group led by Eurnekian, who has one of the largest fortunes in Argentina according to Forbes, owns 52 airport concessions in Latin America and Europe. It also does business in the agribusiness, fuel, bank and infrastructure sectors.
