Grupo Electroingeniería
Electroingeniería is a business group from the province of Córdoba. Its activities began in 1977, with interests mainly in construction, and gas and electrical energy generation and distribution. Over the last 15 years, it took part in several public works trusts, including electrical dams, wind parks, airports, and thermal and power nuclear stations. It also holds business interest in wine growing. Part of its energy investments and projects are conducted in partnership with Chinese investors (Gezhouba Group Corporation and China Petroleum Piperine Bureau).
In 2008 its shareholders, Osvaldo Acosta and Gerardo Ferreyra, made the leap into the media market by purchasing Radio del Plata in Buenos Aires. In 2011 the group launched its own paid-content TV channel, 360 TV, whose programming features mainly Radio Del Plata programs. In 2014 they launched an FM station in Córdoba (Pulxo 95.1).
When the current national administration took office in 2015, Electroingeniería’s businesses were under scrutiny due to its connections with former Minister for Planning Julio De Vido. However, the group also did important business with President Macri while stripping the assests of its media companies, which are now facing a serious financial crisis: Radio Del Plata has laid off half of its workers and is paying salaries in installments; 360 TV has ceased to produce content; and FM Pulxo was sold in late 2018.
In 2018 Gerardo Ferreyra was arrested, accused of paying bribes and surcharges during the Kirchner’s administrations, as Electroingeniería was the second most benefited company through public works contracts during that period.
