Fontevecchia Family
Jorge Fontevecchia and his father Antonio founded Editorial Perfil S.A. in 1976. They started to publish local magazines and later grew their business in the region, especially in Brazil, with magazines for different audiences.
Through some of their publications, they supported the military dictatorship in Argentina from 1976 to 1983. However, Jorge Fontevecchia himself was kidnapped and arrested/disappeared for a week at clandestine center El Olimpo.
In Argentina, he currently publishes biweekly newspaper Perfil and a dozen magazines and online portals. In 2017 he launched a TV channel (Net TV) and is planning to launch two radio stations in 2019. Among Grupo Perfil’s shareholders is Nelva Elvira Balbina López de Fontevecchia, Antonio’s wife and Jorge’s mother.
